Both of the girls have been asking for some shorts for the summer, we settled on capri pants, that will fit for many summers to come.
This first pair was supposed to be for Chloe but the rise ended up being too low. (Not low really, it's just that she likes her pants to be pulled up to her belly button, at least...) So they went to Chessa instead.
A bit big but perfect for summer, so loose and comfy. The fabric is a super soft vintage cotton. And I have more of it, and I'm wondering if it would be silly for all of us to have matching summer clothes...
Chessa is my little garden girl these days.
We have been enjoying our special time together.
She is just melting my heart!

i really love that sweet bonnet! i also really love how much you sew for your kiddos:) i am trying to get better about making more clothes for them but it is so hard when the thrift stores are so inexpensive:) i hope you gals are having a great summer so far! xo, pennie
wow!!! how can that be chessa?!! still adorable but so much bigger.
That's too funny-Seth likes his pants pulled way up high too. The best is in the winter when we are out and about and he has his pants pulled up nearly to his armpits and his sweatshirt tucked in because he says it's warmer that way. He will be ten years old in a couple of months and is still pretty oblivious to things like the fact that the way he dresses sometimes is a bit funny :)
The bonnet, the capris... oh how heavely!!! <3 She's melting my heart too :)
XOXOXOXO
too cute!
so sweet!!!
So sweet! Love the pants, the bonnet, the girl! What a sweetie!
Oh Renee,
The bonnet is priceless and what a great idea with the pants. Such lucky daughters you have.
Warm wishes, Tonya
I love the capris! I need to haul out my machine and build some things for these guys.:o)
I love the capris that you created Renee!
What a great idea so that you can wear them for much longer.
Chessa is so sweet and what a wonderful bonnet! I have been saying each summer that I would love for my daughter to wear bonnets and I never seem to make one. Enjoy your time in the gardens dear friend : ) xoxo
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Love the capri pants ... such a pretty pattern. Looks as if you've fixed your comment problem too, yay! :)
I love the pants, Renee! I have made Ella similar ones- I just love that length -so breezy and also covered enough for my long legged girl. She has a pair of strawberry patterned ones she particularly loves to wear- probably because there is eyelet around the bottoms. :)
Thank you so much for the lovely email- I plan to email you back as soon as I can! I want it to be a good long one.
Love these photos! The capris and the bonnet are just adorable. Makes me want a little girl. Oh well... maybe one of the boys can wear capris. I think the bonnet might be too much to ask.:)
Those came out beautiful! Love the little bonnet too! Great pictures. :)
I love capris. My daughter prefers capris to shorts, too, which is fine with me. And I got a smile...mine is the opposite. She likes a lower rise.
Very sweet. And I am sure you have posted this before (and I probably read it and forgot) but where is the bonnet pattern from?
