Yarn Along ~ Favorite Winter Waldorf Books

..

We have now brought out some of our winter books, here are a few of our favorites...

Winter is a most beautiful picture book. Christmas Stories Together has many very sweet stories that we will be reading all month long.

Oh that little Tomten, wandering about in dark winter night, watching over the sleeping farm.

Wonderful Elsa Beskow. I was happy to discover that our nearby library has Peter and Lotta's Christmas, we have never read that one before, I will surprise the girls with it soon.

Yes, most of my reading lately has been children's books.

Because if I am actually sitting I am much more likely to be knitting than reading. Now on to Chloe's legwarmers, the pink ones are finished for Chessa. I am happy to be knitting something that will keep the girls nice and warm.

Because it has been so very cold. Snowy and beautiful, but temperatures have even gone below zero, and 30'ish is probably an average high. Sigh...

Thank goodness December is full of so much holiday magic and happiness!

Happy beautiful winter season to all!

Oh I just love bringing out this season's books. We also read a story from the Christmas Stories Together around the fire before bedtime. They are delightful and sweet! Knitting legwarmers sounds cozy, too. And yes, let's chat about embroidery soon:) Happy December days!

Hi, I am living in Luxembourg/Europe and blogged about the same thing yesterday. I love children's picture books. The weather is winterly here, snow and the temperature is far below 0°C. Have a nice day!

Brrr... I think I'd be wearing legwarmers myself at that temp! We're having a bit of a cold front push through the Keys this week, had to close the windows as the high will only be around 70F.

What a cozy home you have. Love the ice skating scene at the bottom and also the redwork in your header. Very pretty.

Those books all look great. I just got out our winter books collection and put them in our basket. I'm going to post about them later on today because most of them are Swiss books, and I just cherish them so much.

I am so glad your legwarmers are coming along so well! I need to knit some for myself, but probably won't have time until after Christmas.

As usual, I have way too much to say!
I love your Christmas books- we don't have the Christmas Stories to read together- I'd love to try that one.
LOVE your skirt!!!
And of course, I have to make things extra long for my girl. . .

I just read Ollie to the Children during siester time and the Winter book is Sania's favorite. We have all those adorable books in our home. It's so funny when the dogs bark or do something the children always ask what they are saying which reminds me of little tomten with the animals. They have it in French, and Peter and Lottas Christmas is quite a funny story about the Christmas goat. A sweet little post and lots of fun reading during the cooler seasons. Big kissxxx

I see some of our families very favorites here! I love winter books, they are just so cozy! I have probably mentioned it to you before but I bet your Chessa would love Jan Brett books! They are so detailed and seriously cozy : ) "Winter'the book in your first photo, I think this is Waldorf inspired and also has the other seasons in book form as well?
