The girls spent much of the weekend helping their dad gather and haul firewood. Such good helpers they were, and Chloe learned to use a chainsaw!! (No photos of that, because I wasn't there, and even if I was, I don't know that I would have been watching…) (Wait, of course I would have been watching, anxiously, but without a thought for taking pictures…)
I am apparently sometimes just awful at picking up the camera at all, and so wishing to be better at it. I will try.
So, it is January. Just thought I would mention that, in case the barely any specks of snow on the ground and sundress confuse you into thinking we are already approaching the months of spring.
The little dress. One of the first dresses (probably more like the 5th) I ever made Chloe when she was a baby. Now being worn by sister number three…
I found sweet little baby sitting up in bed at 5:30 this morning. Making happy little sounds to herself, and pointing out the window at the dark sky when I came into the room. Fortunately she is now settled back to sleep.
I have a feeling winter weather will be returning to us soon. Surely, right? This is Colorado, we are 7,000 feet up in the mountains. Please February, please please be snowy!
(Or, it could be said like this… I'm so afraid we are going to have a snowy March! Or April!) (But I try to not voice such concerns…)
Today though, we will enjoy the sun!!
Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!!!

Renee...That dress is so darling! I have kept lots of Sunshine's things, but that won't be for this generation, I am certain of that! And your three girls walking down the road is timeless...always love seeing your little house in the mountains girls! Up north from you, we are experiencing the same dry weather (it makes for a tough ski guiding season for the mister). And like you, I am thinking some snowstorm must be around the corner an also like you, in hopes it means I'll be gardening sooner. Funny logic, but you aren't alone! Lots of love to you and yours,
xo Jules
Dear Renée,
there is so much petry, so much beauty, in the image of the three girls in the wood. And such beautiful dresses for the three of them. I'm also in love with theview of the frozen lake bathing in sunlight in your previous post.
Here we've had a very mild winter so far.... we're all a bit longing for snow, but also dreading it'll come late in March. Have a beautiful week.
The dress is darling! Not sure where in Colorado you live but where I am in Colorado we have SNOW and COLD. I love winter, not a hot summer gal. We sure do need the snow for the hot summer that is sure to follow.
Oh Renee, that first photo, with the three sisters- it is probably my most favorite photograph ever.

We are praying for snow in Northern Nevada. We got some last week but still need more! Every day we do the snow dance! ♥
We have some snow I would be happy to send your way!
And I couldn't agree more with the masses, that first picture is so beautiful.
Happy Monday Renee.
