It passes so quickly, this moment of summer. I want to remember that it was green...
That they climbed into trees...
That they ran in the grass...
(That sure is some well trimmed grass. But they ran through pastures and tall meadows also...)
That they wandered together...
That they wondered together...
That they touched the earth...
(Definitely dirt more often than grass...)
That they had all the time in the world...
And now this month is nearing it's end. Outside it is not only green, there is golden too, more and more everyday.
The sun still blazes during the day, the thunderstorms come in the afternoon, the chill comes late at night and stays to greet us in the morning.
The season is changing. We feel so ready for it, but are going to continue to enjoy these last summer moments while they are here...

We haven't had a chill yet. Hopefully soon. :o)Of course, I thought it felt nice and cool yesterday and it was 109....lol. I may freeze to death this winter!
This is lovely. Your girls seem so close. I, too, am noticing the little signs of autumn...just yesterday I saw crunchy leaves blown against the curb in front of our house. There are still many warm beautiful days left, but now they'll all have that golden light of the coming season.
Beautiful girls, lovely moments Renee.
Yes, summer is such a magical time. Thank you for your sweet, sweet note.
Wishing you a peaceful transition into autumn.
Love, Tonya
Indeed, the autumn winds are peeking at us here as well (: Your girls are so lucky to have one another to explore the world together; my sister and I were ~ and are ~ very close. Beautiful post (: xo
Lovely words and pictures, cheers Marie
You have so lovely girls.
These pics could be scenes from the Little House Books:)...
This is so beautiful, dear Renee! You put all my feelings into eloquent words. :)
We start homeschooling in another week, the first full week of September! Outside it is feeling like it should begin soon.
The girls look so darling in their braids. I love when Ella wears braids- and me too.
<3
Your girls are so beautiful in their flowing skirts and pretty braids. They look free :-)
Sweet Renee...This is a beautiful tribute to this time of year, but especially to your beautiful girls. You managed to capture the bittersweet beauty of this moment so eloquently. Many hugs to you!

I couldn't agree more with your words!
Your girls always look so at peace with everything. It is a lovely thing to see.
Hi Renee, lovely of you to pop over and visit me!! I have lurked around your blog in the past and especially admired your girls in their flowing skirts and peasant blouses. I agree with Green Mama - they do look like they have come straight out of the pages of Little House books!
And I shall enjoy the last of winter here.... ;o)
this is lovely, I too feel autumn in the air here. the colours and light are changing, there is a crispness to the air and it smells like autumn is on it's way :-)
Really already??? We are still sweating it t's and short. Send us some cool air friend. The girls are beautiful. Please let me know how things are.
ah...this summer went way too fast amongst utter chaos. looking forward to the slowing down of fall and winter this year...

gorgeous shots of a beautiful summer.
So beautiful, Renee. I love how you speak of the golden that is now creeping in too. Some of our leaves have already turned flaming red. Sigh...of contentment.
